Title: 1979 brown/tan restoration...need paint codes!
Post by: yzrider on August 27, 2015, 04:51:08 AM
Hey everybody,
I am finishing up restoration on my 1979  crew cab c30. It was two tone brown and tan but I can't seem to find the paint code For the tan. The brown I plan to use chesterfield brown from 77 trans am!

This truck was a real project! New fenders, new front doors, replaced rockers, floors, tons of sanding and panting underneath the truck. Can't wait to get it painted!

You can see on the front fender by the trim a rust spot, the inside of the doors, spots on fenders, and the rockers were rotted. Replaced the front doors, front fenders, rockers, a ton of sanding, ton of prep, and sent it to maaco (gasp!) we'll see how it turns out its there now!

I'm hoping they do a good job. I paid for their best paint job, 2 stage paint with a sealer first, and I did all the prep work to my level of satisfaction.  So if they do any more prep its good, and just don't do a bad job painting and were good!

My friend had his truck painted by miracle and it was a pretty good job (about 4k) but in the spots that don't normally show or are not always seen you can tell.
