Hey guys. Im 25 from Iowa. I bought my first carbureted vehicle last friday. I had a TBI Suburban at one point but this is the oldest vehicle Ive owned to date. Its a 1986 Chevy K10 Silverado LWB with a 4" inch lift. I got it for $1,500 and it needs a little bit of work but overall its a pretty solid truck. Its got the 305 and it runs great, fires up with no problems.
Minor issues are:
Truck pulling to the right when I hit a bump
Tranny leak

Welcome from Northeast AZ! The copper and tan two tone is the best color combination on these trucks! That was the same color combo that was on my dad's 82 K20 Scottsdale. Sure wish I still had that truck!

Its not bad but the original color is blue. The bed, doors, and fenders came off of a C10. There is very little rust on the truck and it will be getting painted blue at some point.

Nice! I noticed that the truck appeared to be blue originally. It appears to be light blue metallic, which was a very popular color. That's the same color blue that my 87 is. It's two toned with white. I think it looks great!
You have a great starting point there. I'm sure glad that I don't have to deal with the rust like some of you. Be thankful that for a Midwest truck, you have little rust. Looking forward to seeing how it turns out! Good luck on the suspension on it too!

This is the color I am leaning towards right now. My dad and I will spray it and I'm just wanting a decent paint job that will turn some heads. I've also been working at a powder coating shop for the past 7 years, so I can get anything painted that I want. The rims will be powder coated a darker black and clear coated.

Welcome and congratulations on some American Steel... The pulling to the right is bump steer from the life and ridiculous excuse for steering geometry in these trucks. Cross over steering is the best option. One I will due hopefully before I hit something harder than the truck sooo rivets beware
