Is there a preferred method?
1) Remove the NP205 along with the SM465 transmission adapter.
2) Leave the adapter attached to the SM465.
Thanks,

Any chance of using a lift?

well the adapter is the only thing holding the trans in place so if you remove that the trans will fall. i would op for leaving the adapter on the trans so it makes the 205 a little lighter. dont be under it or near it when you pull it out and you have to slide it out before it will come down

Yes, the tuck is on my 4 post lift.

That makes sense. I'll be removing the transmission after the T case.
I'll leave the adapter attached to the trans.
Thanks for the replays!

I want to follow up in case anyone in the future has the same question.
My Answer to My Question...
Remove the NP205 along with the SM465 transmission adapter!
I was able to get the T-Case out without removing the trans mount / adapter and forward crossmember but it was a pain.
Some of the fasteners were nearly impossible to access and remove.
Before I reinstall I'll support the transmission, remove the crossmember, mount the adapter to the T-Case, and rent a transmission jack for the transfer case.
