Figured it was time to post and say thank you for all of the great info found on this site. A little about the truck; it's an 87 k10 with a 5.3 swap, tps 220 112 cam, mild head work, 3000k stall. Has a 30 gallon k5 tank swapped in, dakota digital gauges, 4.56 gear with cross over steering, all rebuilt axles, bearings, breaks, lines and hoses. Mounted a few 7" led light up front and 2 4" led in the rear. She sports some bfg 35 for now and an ord front shakles, springs and greasable bushings. This weekend I hope to get the new x-pipe and magnaflow xl 3's in this weekend and off to the tuner.

Welcome from Mass.
I'm on the south shore, 1/2 hour from Boston.
Nice looking truck.
I haven't seen many LS swaps into 73-87's around here in Mass.
How long did the swap take to complete?

It's taken about a year and one broken hand! Started with the usual cab corners and rockers. I'm still hunting for a rust free bed. The 5.3 took 3 weeks to build, only working on it after work and on the weekends and about 2 months to swap it in. But like all things then I needed a new cooling system and electrical haness. The th400 needed an overhaul and the axles needed gears.

Like the truck and welcome.... What year is the headlight arrangement? Get it from a donor?
If you don't mind what exhaust manifolds did you use on your swap and if you got time can you post pics of it near the frame rails and the rear hanger for the front springs.

Headlights are stock 2 lamps from 83-87 I just pulled the turn markers and welded in offroad led light bars. The headers are Schoenfeld 88-94 ls swap headers. I had to plug the drivers side bung and weld in a new one at 90 degrees. I'm sure you could call them and have them just build them that way.

Got the x-pipe on today, sounds good with the 18 inch magnaflow's.

Sweet looks like it will be schoenfeld for mine as well.one little O2 bung is a lot easier than rubbing fram and shackles. Thanks for the pics.
