Title: Padded dash swap
Post by: 77Bonanza on October 06, 2004, 01:19:00 am
I have a good padded dash in my '78 blazer, and a cracked one in my '77 truck.  They are the same color, and I would rather have the nice one in the truck.  My question is how hard is it to remove the dash in these vehicles?

I figure that would be a good time to check/repair the air ducts also.

I have a 76 k10 scottsdale and a 79 k10 silverado.  I swapped the dash out on them.  There are screws on the passenger side of the dash just above the glove box.  Remove them.  You also need to remove the dash bezel.  Then you can just pull out the dash.  That is jst about it.

The swap went smooth as silk.  Lots of treasures found in the process.  3 rifle shells and a cig. lighter :lol
