First time posting, Hey everyone!
I have a 1987 GMC sierra classic it had ugly trim on it so I removed it and the messed up pin.
Question, has anybody used the roll of molding sells? If so, is it easy to cut and any tips on install? I'd rather not buy the precut stuff considering I'd have to cut it anyways for the aux gas tank door.
I'll post some before and after pics.
Also I wanna get rid of the step bumper and replace with a smooth bumper, any tips?
Thanks in advance!!

Welcome from the beautiful White Mountains in Northeast AZ! That's a nice looking truck! Same year as mine. Where in the state are you? I can't really help you out with the mouldings. I don't personally have experience with it. My truck still has its factory original trim. I would think it would be decent quality and not terribly difficult to install. We have a store on this site that sells nice quality stuff. Check it out! The link is at the top of the page. We also have a welcome section where you can post and formally introduce yourself. Again, welcome to the site and enjoy that truck!

Thanks, I will, and I'm in Chandler, just east of Phoenix

I wish you were closer to me. I would love to work a deal with you on that bumper.

Precut stuff is wayyyyy better.

I'm only 3.5 hours away from you! I'd love to work a deal on that rear bumper and the brackets to go with it! I wish I had a factory step bumper like that.

I think I'm gonna agree, I've been trying out different methods on cutting my old molding and I can't seem to get a clean cut, maybe if I had a bandsaw?? I think I'm going precut

I'd trade straight across for a smooth/sport bumper and brackets...
Man, even if I can find one I want your welcome to take this one off my hands for a small fee of whatever it cost in gas next time you're down here!!

Man that would be awesome! Unfortunately, I don't have a sport or smooth bumper on my truck. It has an aftermarket step bumper on it that's been there a long time but is damaged on the right side. Yeah, definitely hold onto that step bumper and I'll look into when I might be able to make a trip down your way or maybe meet in the middle somewhere. I have my email listed on my profile.

Well I am currently on the look out for a bumper and brackets, has it but I can't bring myself to spend $200+ on a bumper, plus I'd rather have a good quality OE one.

No, me either! Are you looking for what is generally referred to as the standard bumper? The one that would cosmetically match the front with the license plate panel that bolts on underneath? There was a guy trying to sell one on my local CL for $20 but it was off a Suburban. I didn't pull the trigger on it because I wasn't sure if Suburbans and trucks used the same brackets or not?

We sell the factory bumper here for $135 + shipping: http://store.73-87chevytrucks.com/merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=7&Product_Code=0851-022C&Category_Code=7387RearBumpers
The Suburban bumper is the same the brackets are not.

Thanks Chris. I knew the bumpers themselves were the same and knew that you sold them new as well. I just wasn't totally sure on the brackets but had a feeling they were not the same. I appreciate you clearing that up for us.
