Will a 4" lift be enough for 15X14 rims and 33X13.50 Toyo tires on a 1984 K20? Also, will I be able to get away with just grinding the calipers or will I need spacers?

back spacing on rims? some have fit 33's with no lift, so I would think a 2 inch would be perfect, 4-6 inches for 35s, 6 to 8 for 37+ tires is my general guideline
I don't think you want a 14 inch wide rim either, especially with only a 13.5 inch wide tire, I believe the recommended rim width for that size tire is 10 to 13 inches

A couple people have a set up like yous with no problem. Myself have 0 lift and I'm running a 33" X 11.2 I rub only with flex. Another says he has 35s under no lift. The main thing is back spacing so you don't hit the drag link
Yeah and idk about the 14 tire on the 13.5 rim. It was a pain for 12.5 tires on a 12.5 rim

Thanks for the the reply guys.. I like that set up and have seen some with wider tires on 14 wide rims. Back in the old days we used to run 33X12.50's on 15X10's with no lift. The rims are Barts from summitt and I believe those 8 lugs say 3.5 BS. With that back spacing will I need spacers to clear calipers? Also, with that wide of a set up will it actually need lifting?

i cant help you on the backspacing since im using the stock wheels and i dont understand it much (dont care that much to do research on it)

the tire is turned and at the minimum gap there might be ½" so any bump while the tires are turned will cause them to rub. now also take into effect the steps will take a couple inches away from clearance but its something to think about

I agree that that rim is much too wide for those tires. 8"-12" would be my suggestion. 10" being an all-around general pick for most 15" tires larger than 33". The tire should have the desired rim width on it someplace. You use too wide of rim and the out edges of the tire wear funny, too narrow and the tread wears in the middle. It may look OK by manipulating the air pressure it isn't because it wasn't designed for that rim width.
Also, like Irish said, the calipers will not be an issue, the drag link will be. The calipers were the same on (almost) all 1/2 and 3/4 ton trucks in the eighties and where designed to fit into the 15" rim. What might make the difference is whether or not the front end used to be under a dually. Of course, nothing is ever absolute so YMMV. Jack it up, pull the existing wheel setup off shove the rim on and see if it fits.
