Title: Help with identifying Transfer case
Post by: Hillbillydrums on October 23, 2015, 03:05:50 pm
I scored a 1976 Jimmy for $200.
Transmission is junk. I got the SBC 400 to run too.

Anyways, on my 75 k10 I plan on a 5.3/4l60e swap. If this thing is an np205 it'll be a bolt up swap (with adapter).
I think its a 205, but not 100%.

The jimmy it came from had a sbc400/th350/and whatever this is(http://i62.tinypic.com/2yufv2f.jpg) (http://i58.tinypic.com/15e9rom.jpg)

Interesting!
Looks nothing like my NP205.
No ID plate?

Looking forward to hearing what you have there.

like stated its a 203, but thats a good thing. the 4l60e is electronically shifted and is 27 splines much like the th350. best bet is to get a np241c off a 89+ square. they will have the right parts for the speed signal and are just as strong as the 205 and you will find them bolted to the 4l60 (non electronic shift) you wont need an adapter since its the same trans as long as the output shaft is the right length for the 4x4
