Title: AIR system logic
Post by: 85ckaz on October 26, 2015, 01:32:10 pm
I am trying to get a better understanding of how the smog pump system works on my Suburban.  1895, K20, Suburban, 350ci, th400, 4bbl Quadrajet without the mixture solenoid, without an O2 sensor, a HEI distributor without ESC.

I found this helpful information but I want to know more.   http://forum.73-87chevytrucks.com/smforum/index.php?topic=23203.0

I have a temperature sender on top the thermostat housing. I do not know what it does. It does not connect to the water temperature gauge.  The green wire #37 is connected to the gauge.

Where is the air temperature switch?

I passed emissions with great numbers and I do not have catalytic converters in the exhaust system.  (29 ppm HC, 0.14% CO) loaded   (82ppm HC, 0.21% CO) Idle.
