Title: Deep pans for 4L80e
Post by: Funkatation on October 26, 2015, 07:31:34 pm
I purchased a deep aluminum pan that adds 2 extra quarts from ATI racing. It looks like the same one from TCI.  They do not include a filter extension and say it's not needed? It looks like others do like the B&M racing one.  I'm not clear how they can use that extra fluid without the extension? Are these things just gimmicks? I know they seal better but do they offer anything else? I read an article from hot rod that said they saw a 10 degree temp improvement.

I would imagine to fully have the benefit of the deep pan you need an extension. But the fluid should still circulate within the pan so you're still drawing from the whole pan just not  directly off the bottom
