Title: Spare tire size..
Post by: philo_beddoe on November 06, 2015, 08:56:26 am
My tires are 235/75/r15,  can I use a 205/75/r15 as a spare?  Or will the truck drive weird and funny..

It's drive fine just as long as you don't have a locker in back

ive always been told not to run different size tires on the rear due to the gears would be fighting each other. on the front you may notice it pull more but i wouldnt worry about it up front. i too would like to have this clarified about the rear

A standard differential "open" is fine.  Keep in mind a "spare tire" is meant to be temporary and should be used only until the offending tire is repaired or replace.  On Gov-Loc or positraction I always opt for matching height spare tires.

yes it would strictly be very temporary. so I should be ok,

Zieg and Irish, I'm adding a couple of pics to my "spare tire carrier" post, I just installed it.  Please let me know if this stupid thing is on right. It's nice and tight, i'll tell ya that.  took me half the morning...
