Title: Chrome strips around windows
Post by: chuckc26 on February 11, 2005, 10:31:00 pm
The chrome or silver strips around my front and rear windows has completely turned bad and I was wondering if you have to use any special tools in order to replace it without bending the new piece.

They are actually rubber with a chrome face. There is a tool for this and you can buy the strip in a roll. The tool is available at most parts stores or glass shops if it breaks a 15 dollar bill I would be surprised. You might even find a glass shop that will sell you part of a roll or as many feet as you need. You will need to reuse the corner pieces from the rear window, and the center piece from the windshield.
