I haven't kept up with NASCAR much in the last few years but it will be sad to see a race and Jeff Gordon not be a part of it.
He is the last active driver to have raced against both Richard Petty and Dale Earnhardt.
I remember when he was just a rookie. Beating "Swervin' Ernie Ervin" to win the inaugural Brickyard 400 was cool. That was when I realized this guy was going to be around for awhile.
Yes, definitely the end of an era.

I haven't followed NASCAR in the past few years either and I agree with you Jeff Gordon was / is a huge talent and always seemed to be a genuinely good guy.
Im sure he will always be.
I too remember watching him before he made it to the Winston Cup series and knew he was going to be a success.
Side note to NASCAR.....
More road courses, less turning only left, and I may rejoin you as a fan again.

Same here, its been a long time since I've even caught a tech tip from NASCAR let alone watched a race but I have to thank you for bringing this up. Due to my recent move I'm a lot closer to Florida and years ago my wife tried to get me the Petty Experience but due to job related obligations and other nations childish actions it fell through...hopefully ican afford another shot in the near future!!! Man I'm excited now! Thanks for the reminder Eng.
