Title: Color Combination?
Post by: GregL on November 23, 2015, 07:42:41 pm
Hi Guys,
I'm going to go look at a '78 C10 this weekend. Fella selling it doesn't know much about it but says it's Black with a Blue interior. Sounds like an odd combination. Anyone know for sure if this combination was available? I'm thinking the truck may have been repainted.

Not that I know of. Every black truck in this body style that I've ever seen either has a red/burgundy interior or a gray one. I bet anything that truck was repainted like that. That's an odd color combination.

Agreed. When he said it had a blue interior, I expected the truck would be blue, white or even silver, but not black.

Our truck was originally blue/blue.  When we brought it home it was black exterior, tan interior.  That appealed to someone but it was not what I wanted.  It is now the same black exterior, but a grey interior.  should be easy enough to figure out if it has been painted.  Look under the hood and open the tailgate.  unless a thorough job you will find traces of the original paint.

Well you may be right after all Zieg. I asked the guy the check the codes on the glove box door and he came up with 9V1 for paint (Black) and 25W for trim (Light Blue). It's a combination you don't see very often.

Back in the day you could order any combo as long as it didn't clash, like Red outside and green inside.  Two tones were limited as well.
