Did transmission/transfer case swap on 1990 suburban. Transmission was a 2wd th40O from an R.V. I removed the tail housing, cans mounted a short input NP205 case to it. Before installing I replaced the o-ring and seal in the axapter, and the gaskets. My trans is leaking fluid into the transfer case, did I overlook something???

The seal lip with the garter spring should be facing the transmission.
There are seals available that have a double sealing lip. Those are the preferred ones.
Other than that the only thing I could think of is maybe, possibly, you somehow cut the sealing lip when you were installing the transfer case.

That's what I was thinking too is if I cut the lip of the seal. Man, that case is awkward for one guy. Where can I find the double lipped seal at if that's the case?

Hard to find the double lip seal, parts stores will have a note if they read it that says use two of this #.
Back to back, one facing to the TC and the other facing the adapter.
Found this out years ago, maybe you can get the double lip seal nowadays

That makes sense, thanks for the advice.
