Title: Dual gas tank need help
Post by: SMURff on December 10, 2015, 06:26:46 pm
Hi guy my names Estevan I have a 1978 Cheyenne v8 5.7. I'm having trouble with the dual gas tanks, right now I have the valve bypassed to my passenger side tank. But when ever hook up both tanks my tuck seems to big out and die. I already bought a new selector valve and installed it still bogged out and killed my truck. Any suggestions on what it could be.?
Thanks in advance Estevan

It runs for a while but I don't even have to switch tanks and it will die

I know it seems simple and unlikely, but be sure your not hooking your vent line to the switch/pump inlet.  The center tube on the sender is the vent and the off-set tube is the pump suction/fuel line.  The first time I hooked up my tanks, I played that game...

Yea it will stay running off my passenger side tank I've had it running like that for a while now

and gas comes out of both lines once I unhook them so I'm certain it's not the vent tube
