Title: TAIL GATE LATCHES/HINGES ON A 1976

Were these ever painted from the factory?? IMO my truck has 100% original paint with absolutely no evidence of any accidents, ever.

But, my latches/hinges are painted.

Upon removing them it appears they were painted at the factory.

I bought an NOS set of hinges thinking factory ones were NOT painted.  Looking at the NOS set which was labled 2ND DESIGN,,,  the only difference I see is the leading edge of the catch is much shorter & basically without a curve to it.

Input anyone???

The latches and hinges on my 87 are painted. Although I think they've been replaced.
I know the latches and hinges on my dad's 82 K20 were painted and that truck had original paint. He was also the original owner and bought the truck brand new!

Factory hinges and latches were painted, replacement parts, NOS or aftermarket are not.
