Title: crappy sending unit?

So I installed this sending unit before I left main and it did fine for the ride down to southeast Ga. Well a few weeks ago it started acting up by just random fuel readings and extremely bouncy needle. Then one day the needle peeled to 6 o'clock and the truck stalled. I continued running it until this became the norm and now the needle stays pegged and pump won't run. I'm guessing the sending unit is grounding out causing this any other ideas?

In know it's the sending unit but what could be causing it.. no more cheap parts..I'm done with that headache. If I can fix this one for the time being then I will until I can afford a quality unit.

The fuel pump and the sender share the ground.
Not likely it's a bad sender.  The sender ground is not making electrical contact with the frame. Did you use star washers on the ring terminal?

The ground still has the star washer. I drove for over 2500 miles without any issues. I'm going to check the grounds in just a few and try to run power straight to the pump with the weather pack connector and see if I get any results.

Ok well it was just that simple... I ran a temporary ground from the bolt to an  unpainted part of the frame and everything looked good. Guage tracked and the truck started up as well.  I haven't taken it for a drive but I'm sure it is gtg. Now I gotta find out why me drivers idea h7b is clicking
