First of all...great forum. I'm learning a lot here! I've got a 1985 c20 that I just picked up. I'm pretty sure that it does not have the original grill in it (it's a 4 headlight setup) and has the square parking lights. The previous owner had the parking lights taped in place with duct tape! I want to mount them correctly, but can't figure out how. I'm guessing that I have incompatible parts but have no idea. I see that there are two mounting tabs on one side of each light but where do they mount?
Any advice greatly appreciated and if anyone has a picture of how theirs mounts, that would be awesome! Thanks

I'm thinking that the grille currently on the truck is from an early 80's model. Perhaps that is the reason ?

The proper grill would have a slot at the bottom on each side that the tab of the lights slides into and two posts at the top on each side that those tabs go over, then a nut screws onto to hold them in place. If it's not the grill for a 4 headlight model, those won't be there

Thanks! I had a strong feeling that the grille was not the correct one. I will now be on the lookout for one that will work...(and in the meantime...the duct tape is still holding! lol). ;D

Found a correct grille and will be installing soon. It's pretty obvious how they mount when you have the right grille!! :-[
thanks again for putting me on the right track.

I have hot glued, & also epoxied the lights into the wrong grille in the past.
