Title: 1981 2wd auto to 4wd manual cab swap
Post by: jhiggin on December 23, 2015, 09:45:55 am
This truck is in the middle of restoration so I would like to be sure before I paint under the cab that I have the trans tunnel correct. Do y'all think that the way I have it now will clear the transfercase or do I need to find a bolt in transfercase hump. Keep in mind this was an auto cab I just added the taller tranny bolt I'm hump.

If you swapped to the tall hump it should clear.

My truck cab is 2wd auto with small hump. It clears my transfer case, no body lift. I did however lower the cross member by taking the spacers on inside of the frame rail and moving them to under the frame rail to lower the cross member. It all fits perfect

Same way mine was done... though I didn't realize it until I bought a carpet kit with a high hump and it did't fit.  :o

By lowering the transfer case cross member you are making the front drive shaft angle worse.
