Title: Old Dog Dish caps

Wish you all had a great time during the Holidays

I am working on my 4x4 Stepside these days. Fresh paint, different color & different style too .
I plan on installing the 8" factory wheels w/earlier dog dish hubcaps.

Could someone tell me what year these in picture are ??

It looks different from what I've seen on ebay !!! Or is it me ?!

Post by: Jason S on December 27, 2015, 01:19:51 pm: Those are late 60's (1969-ish) through 1976-ish (also don't recall exactly). There were minor paint variations depending upon the year and make (i.e., early Chevrolet styles had a blue bowtie vs. a yellow bowtie on later version).

These were also available in painted steel, though most of what I've seen and collected were the stainless versions.

Besides a GMC and Chevrolet version, this style was available in two sizes - a smaller dish for the 1/2 ton and larger for 3/4 and 1-tons. They also had a version with a center opening for manual locking hubs, again available in the smaller and larger version.

I don't recall the dimensions right off, but will measure or take some photos if you need more info about these.

Usually they are wore out but try to rotate them a little to catch a new spot on the rim nubs.
