Title: newbie surface rust Q

Hi there,

I have an 87 chev v10 short box, and its got some surface rust. I can't do a proper paint job yet but I would like to save the body panels from becoming a cancerous mess. Is it alright if I sand down to metal and then spraybomb on primer and paint until later on?
any suggestions?

That will work but you will probably see it come back in 6 months or less.
