Want to install tach dash from 79 Blazer into 84 Silverado with non tach dash. The difference in the two dashes is the tach dash moves the gas guage to lower left corner. Do I have to move any pins on the connector going into the panel and if so which pin is moved to what location on the connecter. Also what color wires are the connectors?
Thanks in advance.

Hey Irish......I was looking at your wiring links and got a question for folks. Those links show that an 83 NG cluster tied into the oil sender through a dark blue wire from pin 3 and the gas sending unit with a tan wire from pin 18. My 83 C-10 non gauge cluster runs the tan wire to the oil sender from pin 3 and a pink wire to the fuel sending unit from pin 18. I traced the wires back through the printed circuit and tan goes to the oil idiot light and pink to the gas gauge. Did Chevy use 2 different methods? Is my particular truck wired wrong from the factory or are the charts wrong? Every other pin and corresponding wire color is the same with the exception of the seat belt reminder......in mine its black/wht stripe. ?????????
