Hello guys..
Installing an alarm on my truck, its a viper and the flash output wire is positive. It makes the parking lights flash when the alarm is armed/disarmed and when it is set off. In my truck i know the parking light positive is brown.
Do i connect this directly to the brown wire or do I need a relay?
+flash output from alarm 86
+parking light wire on vehicle 87
ground to 85
+12V to 84
??? any help would be greatly appreciated.. Thank you

I wish I could help here, I have a viper alarm also but my lights aren't hooked up to it. My old alarm before the viper was hooked up to lights and I didn't use a relay, I think it was hooked up just the way you said. I never had any problems. Maybe I should hook up my lights.

I went straight to the brown wire also, works good so far.

Newer viper alarms have relays built into the brain for everything except the starter kill.

Hey i got the alarm finished. Only relay I used was for the dome light not sure if that was even necessary but its working fine with it. added auto door locks in the process.

That's good. I need to hook up the wire for the light flash function on mine. Haven't done it. I didn't bother with the light flash function but who knows I might, the old alarm before the viper had it.
