First post here, I've reading on here for a while now, great board:
85 Silvarado SWB
Is there any way at all to remove the side molding (or rather the adhesive)without damaging the paint? I'm not planning on painting any time soon but would love to get it off if I can. If I can't completely remove the adhesive, I would at least like to get it clean enough to replace the molding.

If the paint is original, it shouldn't peel, BUT I would suggest pulling it off with a heat gun to loosen up the glue and make it gooey. Be specific wit the heat gun if you are using a hot one. I have heard of people using a hair dryer also, just haven't done it myself. Once it starts to "unglue" you can follow along and peel it off. It is best to start with a corner and work it loose. Goo-Gone does well getting the sticky off.
If the truck has been painted without removing the trim, you are most likely going to peel the paint off. Chris Lucas

What do you mean by "be specific?"

Specific on where you are pointing it. If the gun puts out alot of heat it could burn the paint/trim.
