Can anyone tell me how big of a deal it is to replace the window channels (all of them, not just the ones on the bottom)?
The weatherstripping (felt?) is all ate up. I've never gotten into the door myself and am a little intimidated.
Thanks
edit: I would like to apply this same question to the vent window seals. Edited by: Barraphernalia at: 6/22/05 12:20 pm

The actual window felt and run channel is fairly simple, but you have to remove the window.
To replace the Vent window in comparison is a PAIN. I have know people (including some on here) that just bought a new vent assembly instead of replacing the weatherstripping on the vent window. Chris Lucas

Well, I definately can't afford new assemblies. My intimidation really just comes from lack of experience and knowledge rather than lack of confidence, so I think I'd like to try it myself.
You wouldn't happen to have first hand knowledge of this project yourself would you? My most imedieate concern is that I would like to order the parts tonight from and want to be sure I get everything I'll need up front so I don't get stuck missing something that can't run an get at Ace hardware in the middle of the project.
I know I'm starting to flood this board with questions, I'm just trying to get a lot done and each project I research just seems to lead to another one that I have to to do first.

Not sure but rounded line might carry window felts in here. I have done them several times and it can be done without removing the glass from the door. I unbolt the back window track bottom bolt and push it back far enough for the window to pop out of the front chanel, then you rip out the old and put in the new. there is a metal clip on the back top corner, but the rest is just a press fit. then slip the glass back into the front chanel roll it up bolt the back chanel back in place and test it up and down a bunch of times.
