Title: Aftermarket Stereo Deck?
Post by: 780K20 on February 02, 2016, 01:49:33 pm
Hey everyone, I'm looking to switch out my old stereo for something that is compatible with an aux cord or even Bluetooth would be awesome so I can play music off my phone. Are there any aftermarket plug and play stereo decks out there? I am not electrically inclined haha the easier the better! TIA

There are radios that you can buy on eBay or even convert them yourself.  Here is one example with the jack but I know a guy that can do it with a blue tooth style as well.  This is if you prefer the stock look and don't need a high powered unit.

I sent a guy out this working radio, he cleaned all the switches, aligned it, new belt on the cassette deck and installed a remote wired jack (sitting on top of the radio coiled up) that all I have to do is drill a hole in my dash and put the jack through.  This particular model doesn't have enough room to do it like the standard AM-FM in my other reply

I'd be interested in knowing more about this set up. That's the exact same radio that's in my truck! And mine is fully functional. I remember you posted about this before but never elaborated on what exactly was done or what the cost was. I like that set up as I would prefer to keep my truck looking as stock as possible. Oh, BTW, do you or anyone else know if this model has a backlight that illuminates with the dash lights or is it just an LCD display? Just curious before I tried removing it and taking it apart since the radio is extremely difficult to operate at night since I can't see it!
