I'm new to the site, from Pittsburgh. I have an 85 c30 long bed step side. Mines in ok shape, little rust just beat up. I recently found the same bed on Craigslist in decent shape. Think it's worth buying just to have in case?

Good beds are hard to find especially steppers. If you got the coin and a space to store it I say go for it. Welcome from west central IL

Welcome to the site.
If you have the room, like Zieg said, you should grab the bed for a spare.
I have an 8' step side. I also have 2 spare beds for it. I got both of the beds for free, hopefully I never need them.

Welcome from Northeastern AZ! I agree with what's already been said. Grab the bed if you have money and space for it! Grab any other body parts that have minimal rust as well! Original body parts are much better quality than anything aftermarket for these trucks. Let us know how it turns out! Got any pics of the truck as well? You know that's what we're all dying to see! ;D

welcome from maryland. if you have the space you could get the bed and turn it into a trailer to match your truck

From a fellow new guy, welcome to the site. I would ask myself.
1. Is the new bed too good of a deal to pass up?
2. Do I have room to store it without making my wife mad?
