Title: How to get my tailgate unstuck

My tailgate is stuck (in closed position). It happened afetr I slammed it shut one day (I was pissed for some reason). I didn't think that I really slammed it that hard, but none-the-less, it's stuck. The handle seems to be out rather than in but it's not budging at all. Does anyone have any idea where I might start?

A large screw driver in between the bed and the gate from the inside.

you can use a pocket knife or a screw driver i had the same problem on my 86 k20 but the handle linkage was broke. take it and go on the inside of the bed between the tailget and the inner bed side u will see the little latch stick the screwdriver or pocket knife in and push it in towards the tail gate and pull on the tailgate at the same time.
