Title: Install gas tank from long bed into a short bed

has anyone installed a long bed tank in a short bed truck? i want to have the 20 gal tank in my short bed truck..

They don't fit. Only 16 gallon tanks fit.

What he said. They're too long to fit in between the wheel well and the cab floor drop down under the seat. Your only option is to try to install the factory dual tank set up if you only have a single tank, or remove your spare tire carrier underneath your bed and do the Blazer tank swap and still try to fab up a dual tank set up or eliminate the factory saddle tank entirely and do just the Blazer tank under the bed.

A factory duel tank would give you 2 16 gallon tanks, for 32 total. A blazer/suburban tank swap would give you 30-35 gallons I believe. Short bed tanks are 16 gallon only. Long he'd tanks are 20 gallon. 16g tanks fit on long and short beds, 20g tanks only fit on long beds.
