Title: cab bushings

Ihave found an 83 2wd cab to go on my 79 4wd frame. My question is do I use the 81 -87 cab bushings or do i use 73-80 2wd cab bushings or 73-80 4wd cab bushings ?

You need to use the bushings that go with the frames year. As far as I know there is no diference between 2WD & 4WD cab mount bushings, original or aftermarket.

Specify that your truck is a 4x4 when ordering bushings.3/4 ton and 4x4 have the rear cab frame crossmember 1" lower than the 1/2 ton.

Have built many of these trucks and never had a problem with just getting a set of bushings for the vintage, or gathering 6 good ones out of several parts trucks. The 4 cab mount bushing are the same and the core suport 2 are diferent from the cab bushings. I may be wrong but i believe they are the same, 4x4 & 4x2.

Use the 73-80 4WD cab bushings.Frames are different but cabs are the same where they bolt up.

thanks for the info, i thought the frames were different.Just wanted to make sure before I ordered.
