Hey all. I got a new parking brake cable and installed it on my Chevy K10 77 truck. There is just one equalizer adjustment and I am maxed out on it. The cable works, but its still a little loose, is there anywhere else I can adjust it to take up the slack? thank you

Do not adjust the brake cable until you have adjusted the shoes correctly. If there is too much slack then you have the wrong cable(s) 77 is the older style. i believe they changed the design in 84 and then you have variations from weight class and wheel base.

Okay. I have drum brakes on the rear and is there an adjustment in there?
I don't have a tape on me now, but the one that came off was shorter. I got this one locally and they said its the shortest one they have.

Yes you need to clean, inspect and manually adjust the brake shoes. Install the correct cables and adjust and you will be good to go

Okay. Sounds good, I am going to exchange the cable and get them to match the old one. Thank you for the info!
