Hello , my 86 silverado c10 Gauges do not work, for that matter never has
Since this truck was given to me. The only two gauges that work are the fuel gauge and my mph gauge . My question is , Speaking from experience what is the best option(kit) to get my oil, water, and water temp?

Poor connections between the harness plug and the instrument cluster PC Board due to dust accumulation and tarnish, as well as between the gauges and PC Board are common issues. Occasionally, the copper foil will peel loose from the plastic backing and tear. Make sure the copper foil is intact and making good connections at said locations. If needed, tarnish can be cleaned from the foil using a soft pencil eraser, but again be careful to avoid peeling the foil loose. Plated metal spring clips provide the connections between the gauge pins and the PC Board. You will need to remove the gauges and clips to burnish the board under the clips and the clips themselves. Before reassembly, increase the tension of the contact between the clips, the gauge pins and the board by gently bending the tangs of the clips. Smear a light coat of dielectric grease or antioxidant paste at the connection points to retard future oxidation.

You misunderstood ,I mean this engine is a 355 , 292 with a 480 lift . I'm on a budget ,s I'm wanting to upgrade .There aren't any plugs coming off of this engine , but there are plugs coming from the firewall .How do I start?

Edelbrock engine ,holly carburetor .

The thread became confusing with your last two posts. Are you asking how/where to install senders and how to build/install a wire harness between the existing instrument cluster and engine? Does the truck have factory gauges now that simply aren't connected? Are there any senders in the engine?

#1 yes #2 yes #3yes#4no

Do you know how to read a wiring diagram? Are you familiar with where the oil and temperature senders mount in a SBC?

Yes and no

1986 Wiring Manual (http://www.73-87chevytrucks.com/techinfo/7387CKMans//Wiring/ST_352_86_1986_Chevrolet_GMC_Light_Truc_Wiring_Manual_CK_10_30_Only.pdf)
Coolant temp sender threads into the left cylinder head between #1 and #3 cylinders. OPS threads into a tall 90° street elbow located adjacent to the distributor behind the intake manifold OR into the block just above the oil filter. Use the most convenient location. Use the wiring diagram to sort out which cavity of the bulkhead connector has the appropriate circuit to extend the wiring to the senders. The voltmeter doesn't extend into the engine compartment, but ties into the under dash wiring.
