82 k30 with syncro t/c. Did a complete tear down to replace seals and gaskets.
Noticed some wear and chipped gear on large idler gear. Replaced the idler assembly
with parts from another case but then I read somewhere that the idler is different
between syncro cases and non syncro cases. Is that true? If so, can I change front
output to non syncro (shift fork, rear cover, etc)

Do they look physically the same? If so they should interchange. Ratios didn't change so tooth count shouldn't be an issue.
