I went through this with my 91 K5. When I asked the seller about his 84 K2500 the first question, "any water leaks". None was his answer.
So here we are. Dash pad out, rug and seat out. Cowl off.
Looks like the windshield is leaking (big surprise ) and both cowl vents. Non AC truck mind you. Now apparently there was a TSB for the cowl leak. You remove the vents and add water deflectors. The number is listed as unavailable so I may be up the creek on that one.
Feel free to chime in with your water leak storys.

Yeah..... about that windshield leak. Spent the day repairing a couple of rust holes. Used a rust converter first, and you know the drill.... marine text (on strike can't use the welder at work) AND a liberal amount of seam sealer.
Couldn't make it any worse that's for sure!

Replaced both kick pannel/fresh air vent gaskets. Ones from are THICK!!! Not so sure that's a good thing. So to recap I..
Replaced windshield and repaired rot holes in the frame
Cleaned and resealed cowl
Replaced kick pannel fresh air gaskets
Replaced body to door seal
Bring on the rain!

dome light?
have you check your roof for holes?
-
yeah no holes, New paint even. The only thing I can think of is a small crack where the outer and inner sheet metal were molded together.

high mount brake light or cargo light?
