Title: C30 / P30?
Post by: Blazin on May 15, 2016, 08:18:06 pm
Does anyone know if the P30 chassis uses the same ball joints / spindles as a C30? I've always been into 4x4 squares, never done much with the front suspension of 2 wheel peels except replacement of parts etc.

I have a Class A motor home that I am toying with the idea of turning the chassis into a rat rod with an 86 K10 cab I have sitting around.
I would like to use drop spindles, 2" maybe 3". Pretty sure the aren't drop spindles made for P30!  Going to drop the rear about the same, maybe a bit more with spring under, ( I will correct the pinion angle ). Shorten the frame as needed.
Floor is pretty rough, thinking of chopping, and body dropping it too.
Never been a fan of chopping our trucks, but I think for this project it will work.
Something like the picture, but with a square obviously, and probably more off road tread tires.
Chassis has 454 / TH400.
Haven't torn the motor home down yet, I have all the big pieces I need. Still in the planning ( in my head ) stages.

Early 80s P30.
I would think they would share these parts from the factory standpoint.
