im swapping out my bad th350 to a 700r4 got the 700 with a short shaft so i didnt have to shorten my drive shaft or move the crossmember so thats cool got a new tv cable on the way but my question is will i have to change the shifter rod that connects to the transmission it kind of goes into the shift link but really tight. the truck is a 83 short bed two wheel drive

afaik the 700r4 only came with one shaft length on the 2wd and only one for the 4wd. can you verify that it came with multiple lengths? not saying youre wrong cause i may be wrong and i need to know. but the shifting linkage will be the same.

Adjust the TV cable before you drive it
Do NOT drive it without it being adjusted properly
Doing so WILL burn up the 700
