Hello everyone. My dad had been having an issue with his bright lights where when he hits the dimmer switch to turn them on, they would start flickering on and off within a couple minutes. He replaced the headlight switch and turned the brights on, but within a couple minutes it burned the wire right below a fusible link in the wiring harness on the firewall (to the left of the brake booster). Does anyone have any idea what could be causing this issue. Thanks in advance

okay...any wire in particular? We followed the wiring schematic and noticed that the hi-beams run through a light green wire connected to the headlight switch dimmer switch. Also, there is a yellow wire that runs from the headlight switch to dimmer switch (not lo-beam). Could it be either one of these?

Quad headlights or single headlights? It only happens on high beam? Do a preliminary check of the wiring from the bulkhead connector to the headlights and check for the obvious things first. If everything looks okay check the wiring from the bulkhead connector back to the column
