Title: 454 egr delete/ issues/ bypass
Post by: thelincolnguy on July 30, 2016, 08:08:32 am
Hello everyone. I have a 1986 chevy c30 single cab 454 with the awful egr system. As i am aware this system has two pumps. The bottom side pump being the smog pump. I need to know if anyone has the part number to a serpentine belt that will bypass the smog pump after i remove the pully. (Will not clear otherwise) my smog pump has locked up and wont spin until i get on the highway. Going thru belts like crazy and plan to do a full egr delete in the future. (New heads, intake, headers, etc. ) any easy temporary fix is helpful as this truck is my daily driver (65 miles round trip a day)

Your EGR and your A.I.R. pump are two different systems. Just look up your belt by application with or without ac, with or without A.I.R.

The a.i.r. Pump is the one causing problems. And my truck has a/c. the serpentine belt is the one that needs to be shorter

Just run a string around the pulleys and measure. Try a 530K6

Ok i will try it. Should i put a string around it with the current belt on and tensioned? The alternator tensions it. No auto tensioner
