So I have a 1974 chevy c10 stepside. The turn signals are looking ratty so I decided to replace them. They are ill fitting as well. I ordered new amber lenses and they stick out of the enclosure area about 1/4 inch. (Still ill fitting). I am thinking perhaps the front end is no longer entirely 1974 vintage. has separate lenses for different years. Anybody know where I can get the dimensions (like thickness I think). Anybody had this issue? Maybe the lenses actually stick out a bit? I just can't imagine they would be that ill fitting even if it was the 70s....
thanks for any responses.

The amber and clear (white) lenses are the same dimensions. It sounds like some sort of misalignment where the reflector bolts to the front end sheet metal. Do you have aftermarket fenders or splash aprons?

sorry for the late response. turns out the bumper had been pushed up. I suspect a minor "collision" in the past. I was able to realign the park/signal light cavity with a crow bar (slight prying), and it fits perfectly and looks great. Now I need to get a bumper. the tweak is so slight as to be almost not noticable, but now that I know it's there that is all I see when I look at the truck!!
thanks much
