Hello everyone. 4 years ago I posted here with my 1976 C10 and shortly after my camshaft took a dump. I pulled the engine and one thing lead to another and up until a week ago I had the dreaded stalled project. I've been buying parts here and there and rebuilt the 454, now with a roller cam. So now it's "Bout Time" to get this bad boy back on the street. So this is my, build thread? Rebuild thread? Get off my lazy ass thread? Who knows! So I'll post here and you guys can: encourage me (in any way you see fit) or tell me hey that's stupid do it this way (I won't but you can still post your opinion) so here we go.

Basically I took inventory of what I have and where I am at. Ordered a few missing parts. I also installed the new motor mounts to the frame supports. Removed the stock brake lines (moving backwards I know). Went through the motor that has been sitting on the engine stand for 2 years. Nothing exciting. The plan for this coming weekend is dropping the engine between the frame rails and hooking up the Trans.

It's been raining the entire week. Streets are flooded and truck is still gridlocked in storage. :(

We had a lot of rain last night, grass is out of hand. Hopefully my tow mirrors come today for the '01, it'll give me something to do...

Got a little work done today. Engine and Trans between the frame rails and bolted down. Headers bolted to the block. Oil filter primed and installed. Gotta find my missing starter bolts. I am going to rig up the ignition and some fuel and crack it off before I go too much further. Make sure everything is in line. It lives! Rigged up some temp wiring and fuel. Got her running. Had a issue with the balancer touching the timing cover. Never had this before but I've never used a flow tech balancer.

Looked up the instructions for the balancer and it says in there it can happen. Did a little "massaging" to the timing cover and got the clearance I need and so far no leaks.
