Title: Globe box problem
Post by: philo_beddoe on August 26, 2016, 08:37:20 pm
I bet this is a common problem with our glove boxes, the lower strip is coming off where it attaches. Any solutions?

Couple of layers of black gorilla tape worked on mine

New glove box door is the only proper solution.

GM should have made that a real hinge. A shame to have to replace the oem glove box over that.

You find a replacement and put your metal cover on it.  I found that the newer the better used.  I have found that the non-AC are next to impossible to find.  I have also seen a piano hinge work but not as nice as the original

I used an aftermarket replacement and it's been great for many years.  Only problem is I lost my original, with RPO codes during a move... Still kicking myself.

I am in the process of installing and fabricating the right stuff to put a piano hinge on the glove box so i can keep the original.  :)

I may delve into that, black gorilla tape first.
