good morning,
i have to exchange my "cooler hose".
up to now I ever used the red coolant colored fluid
but i have heard that i should use an other colored fluid
for the cooler hoses - when I refill the whole system.
which colour should I use - or ...
do i have to use the green colored fluid in the coolant and also
in the surge tank ...
sry for my poor english - hope u have an advice
thx in advance, stephan

Ethylene Glycol premixed. It can truly be any color but is typically green or yellowish green.
I think you are referring to Dex-Cool which you do not want to use.
-
rv coolant is also one of those off colors. but go with what vile said, stick with the green stuff
-
thx for your replies. it is complicated to get the green, but I got the newer
but similiar thing in yellow.
look at the picture ... up to now i used the right one (ct13)
thx, stef

Kuhlerschutz roughly translates to Radiator protection... Engine Coolant or Anti-Freeze in conversational English.
I would use the yellow cap Car Technic Kuhlerschutz. The data looks like it's roughly equivalent to the old green Silicate coolants. https://translate.googleusercontent.com/translate_c?depth=1&hl=en&prev=search&rurl=translate.google.com&sl=de&u=http://www.cartechnic.de/index.php%3FeID%3Dtx_nawsecuredl%26u%3D0%26file%3Dfileadmin/products/sdb/MUE_SDB_Kuehlerschutz_(gelb)_de.pdf%26t%3D1472411548%26hash%3Df056b4e5d853b63d7c8061c468af3143&usg=ALkJrhgGKn3sl_CReeDaGliq-h3Z_OIvOQ (https://translate.googleusercontent.com/translate_c?depth=1&hl=en&prev=search&rurl=translate.google.com&sl=de&u=http://www.cartechnic.de/index.php%3FeID%3Dtx_nawsecuredl%26u%3D0%26file%3Dfileadmin/products/sdb/MUE_SDB_Kuehlerschutz_(gelb)_de.pdf%26t%3D1472411548%26hash%3Df056b4e5d853b63d7c8061c468af3143&usg=ALkJrhgGKn3sl_CReeDaGliq-h3Z_OIvOQ)
The Red cap Car Technic Kuhlerschutz CT13 Looks like it's similar to the modern aluminum safe Volkswagen G12 HOAT coolant. I have nothing bad to say about the VW G12 coolant in my A5 Jetta TDI but I wouldn't use it in one of these trucks. HOAT coolants generally don't mix well with the old "Green" Silicate coolants.
