Title: Wheel spacers
Post by: Als87 on August 27, 2016, 03:05:29 pm
Considering adding wheel spacers this week. 4wd lifted truck so do I need the same size in front & back? Has anyone had good or bad experience w any different brands or w wheel spacers overall. I don't want to go out to far but I like the kicked out look w fender flares. Thanks

Is this for your 87 V10? If so just get them for the back. 2" on each side will do it.

Yea it is. So could I go 2" on the back & 1" in the front? Or 3" & 1"???

Anything above 2" is unsafe, in general I would never use wheel spacers at all. Larger than 2" allows for the possibility of the wheel flexing away from the axle especially if the lug nuts are not tightened the the correct torque rating and if they are over tightened it could cause to much stress on the studs, causing them to snap or break at the most inconvenient time, like driving down the freeway.

Ok yea I don't want unsafe, so I'll def just stick to the 2" max & make sure they're properly torqued. Thanks
