can i put the '81 front bumper on the '79 C10?

It can be done but it will look like putting a round peg in a square hole.The 73-80 bumpers are countoured for the noses and the 81-87 bumpers are so the more boxy looking noses.

You'll have to modify the frame to do this, Chris has a pic of what has to be done.

As said, the bumper needs to be trimmed to fit the '81-87 bumper.  I am doing this on my project truck...
