The windshield arms were what color when new? Where flat black or gloss?

Also when painting the chassis what is the best paint to use?

what are you using rattle can? dont you use gloss.
maybe try using duplicolor trim paint. looks in between flat black and semi gloss

More like semi gloss.
I use chassis saver or POR15 on the frame if rusty or blasted, the paint over it with gloss or semi gloss black
If it is not rusty, clean and paint with rattle can.   What are you doing spot coloring or?
