Hey guys. My High beams just randomly stopped working one morning.
I checked for voltage at the green high beam wire on the headlights. It was very little to none. It was fluctuating between .03 to .08.
I cleaned the 2 grounds on the core support for the headlights, with no change. But I don't think its a ground issue because there was never any flickering. They just stopped working.
I noticed I can now turn my low beams on/off by pulling back on the high beam switch. That didn't used to happen.
I also noticed the 2 blue dots in my gauge that would indicate the high beams were on, are now gone.
I don't know if this would have anything to do with it but I always used my high and low beams. Any time my headlights were on, my high beams were on.
My truck is an 86 with the 4 Headlights.
Whats do yall think is going on here?
Thank you

Probably a bad dimmer switch.

Alright I'll pick up a new dimmer switch one of these days.
Thanks

Had the same issue with my truck. Replaced the dimmer switch. Worked good.

Yup dimmer switch was the fix. Now all 4 headlights work again.
I was able to replace it without dropping the column. It was a big pain in the butt, but it is possible.
