Title: WHICH AIR ELEMENT?
Post by: jcw1503 on October 27, 2016, 02:52:39 pm
I am looking to improve my air flow on my 85 chevy c10 Silverado with a 305 that has a tbi conversion on it. I am currently replacing the entire exhaust, long tube headers back with dual exhaust. I was wanting to upgrade the air intake. It has the stock intake with the heater restriction in the tubing. I am torn between a traditional open element like option 1. Or a dual intake like option 2. Is Option 2 worth the price difference? The biggest reason I am even considering option 2 is because of the extra heat inside the engine bay, especially since I am removing the manifolds and putting long tube headers on them (non-ceramic). Any advice would be truly appreciated.

A 305 won't be pulling that much air. The main thing most will say is connecting the air horn to the fender for colder air

Do some reading at tbichips.com.  Lots of good TBI info there. We have some of his stuff on Brooke's truck. I learned a lot there.
