Title: motor smoking
Post by: Macaroni_Sackaroni on November 14, 2016, 01:19:40 pm
I dont know if its the beginning of a blown head gasket but this morning I got alot of stinky smoke shootin out. NOT TOO cloudy.

Anyways two weeks ago I did a compression test (results were all bad)... long story short lost track of all spark plug wire positions except for one. Rewired them based off that one spark plug wire using a googled diagram of my distributor.
(which could have been the wrong) Also noticed one of the plug wires are broken internally (the little circle metal inside the wire that holds the tip of the plug is broken)

not sure what to do or whats wrong. to be honest i dont really want this motor.

So im assuming
1) the fuel is not getting burned thats why it smells bed and smoking?
2) or blown gasket?
3) bad rings?
4) maybe wires are out of order .. i guess the engine wouldnt start? not sure.
how do i check if they are installed correctly.

i guess it could be a bunch of things but i need advice. smoke is white small like a cigarette vapor thing

could of been just vapor. did it go away after it warmed up? are you missing oil or coolant?

yeah its kinda of gone away since. as for coolant its hard to tell since my coolant resevoir is a black coolant bottle with no coolant level indicators (installed by the last guy)
