I have an 85 chevy C10 with an LE9 305. It has 601 heads and a tbi conversion on it. It also has 2.73 gears in it, eventually I will upgrade these to 3.42 or 3.73. I am adding long tube headers with dual exhaust. I am wanting to replace the cam (also, springs, lifters, etc.). But I am torn between the summit 1102 and summit 1103. From my understanding the 1102 is typically used for a 305 however (from what I read) the LE9 stock cam and the Summit 1102 is just a little bit different. Not as much of difference than a typical 305. Can I go with the bigger 1103 or should I still go with the 1102? I am not building for track use, just weekend use around town. Also, low end power is better than top end, but increasing both would not hurt. Thanks.

I have both of those cam in different engines and in your circumstance I would recommend the 1102. I have worked over 350's so there's a size difference and the 1102 just seems nicer, not as powerful but smoother and required less other mods to run well. Being as the 1103 will feel more radical in a smaller engine I would avoid it.
